Local Authority in North West Ireland, and partner in project SMARTrenew, Donegal County Council, has been announced as a finalist in the Construction Excellence Awards 2022, for their energy upgrades project at the Letterkenny Public Services Centre. 

The extensive energy upgrades completed to the Letterkenny Public Services Centre followed on from earlier works carried out by Donegal County Council at the Milford Public Services Centre under project SMARTrenew including:

• 3 No. 42.6 kW air-source heat pumps to replace oil boilers
• 20 photo-voltaic solar panel to generate 6 kW of electricity
• Pumped cavity bead insulation to 800m2 of external walls
• New efficient heating controls

The ICE (Irish Construction Awards) final will take place at a gala event, in the Convention Centre Dublin, on the 20th of May 2022.

The ICE awards are the original and premier recognition of performance excellence for the contracting sector in Ireland. The ICE Awards provide an opportunity for the industry to showcase and reward best practice across the full range of construction disciplines and project categories.
