Catchup on the HEATER event "Heat Solutions in Rural Areas"

Heat Solutions for Rural Areas, hosted by the new NPA cluster project HEATER took place on Wednesday, the 9th of February. The event showcased the innovative outputs and renewable energy pilots featured in the HANDIHEAT, SMARTRenew and eLightHouse projects, and explored the challenges of finding heat solutions for rural, sparsely populated areas within the NPA region. Dr Nick Timmons showcased a range of SMARTrenew pilots during the event from across the NPA, implementing both renewable energy and energy efficiency measures, in both residential and public settings.

HEATER is a cluster of projects with synergies across HANDIHEAT, SMARTRenew, TechSolns, SENDoc and eLightHouse. The partnership with WiSAR Lab, Letterkenny Institute of Technology (SMARTRenew project), Ulster University (SENDoc/TechSolns), Oulu University of Applied Sciences and HANDIHEAT, Northern Ireland Housing Executive aims to collaborate and cluster the transnational outputs from previous projects to educate and empower local communities to effect positive behavioural change and inform decision makers to influence policy across climate change mitigation and adaptation and sustaining communities.
