We are delighted to announce that SMARTrenew will feature at the Virtual Fair of the European Summit of Regions and Cities which will take place on the 3rd and 4th of March. SMARTrenew will host a stand at the Virtual Fair together with Interreg Europe and the Northern Periphery and Arctic programme, project EMERGREEN.
The European Summit of regions and cities is a gathering of local representatives organised every two years by the European Committee of the Regions to discuss the EU's future challenges. The 9th European Summit of Regions and Cities invites citizens and their elected representatives to help design a more resilient, cohesive and democratic European Union.
In these challenging times, the level of government closest to citizens – local and regional – was often on the front line of crisis management and adapting to the new normal. In this context, Resilience and Innovation best describe the flexibility and resourcefulness that subnational authorities have shown to support their citizens in a variety of societal aspects, among which fostering innovative democratic practices, revitalising local economies, providing an array of re-engineered community services, setting up rapid response schemes to health crises or innovative policies to cope with migration flows.
The virtual fair will be held online in the margins of the Summit as part of the overall "online convention centre" proposed for the whole event. It will be freely accessible via a link on the CoR summit webpage.
